Fishing Report, 6/29/08

Arnie with a nice Bow!
The Wood River is back to normal regarding water level and water temperature. Temperature is reading at 65 degrees and the water is very clear again. As you know the rain of last Tuesday, 6/24/08 turned the river to a chocolate brown color. It didn’t last long is the good news.
Arnie Waters fished the river and found that the fish where interested in subsurface streamers, emergers, and terrestrials. We started fishing at around 5:30 pm using black leech patterns in a size #10 streamer hook, the total length of the fly, oh, maybe 11/2 “ long, tied with black or brown marabou.
Later in the day we changed over to a terrestrial, my wasp pattern in size #14, yellow form pullover top body, with a forest green dubbed body of rabbit fur. The hackle is three or four turns of brown furnace hackle, that’s it very easy!
We used Ants, and Inchworms as well, I did see a good number of small BWO spinners on the water. Also observed many stillborn midge pupa in the film. Arnie did very well and enjoyed the day as always. We couldn’t stay for the Hex hatch, maybe another day.
