Fishing Report Narrow River, 10/4/07

Hi everyone, last night we fished The Narrow River. We started out just upstream of Sprague Bridge at, oh, about 6:00pm just as the tide started turning to outgoing. Fish started hitting our blue over white deceivers, size #1 & 1/0. There was plenty of peanut bunker available to the fish but the good news is the fish did take our offerings down in the water column at about 4’ to 5’ deep. I was using a dropper fly of gray over white craft fur that was a little smaller than the blue and white laed fly. Most of the fish did take the lead fly deceiver and an occasional fish took the smaller gray and white.

The Air flow forty + fly line works very well, it allows me to fish different depths at a good fast and efficient pace. Any good fast sinking intermediate fly line will do the trick.
We left Sprague Bridge at 7:15pm to try the middle bridge area. The bite their was just not happening, a few shad and snapper blues. We should have stayed at Sprague.

Best always, Ed www.edlombardoflyfish.com
