Fishing Report 8/29/07

Hi, we fished the Narrow River last night at the mouth. We got there at around 5:30pm during the tail end of the outgoing tide, no fish. We did the same as the last time i.e. left for a sandwich and came back at 7:00pm. By this time the tide had turned to incoming and the bait was all over the place. I mean all over the place. A real smorgasbord of silversides, bunker, and tons of sand ells. And again bunched up in blankets or bait balls if you will. I tried flies down deep, the middle, just under the surface, and even on top. The fish where there not many but enough to keep three fly fishers and two spin fisherman happy. From squid, silverside, bunker, poppers, and small ell patterns, no fish taken, by any of us. We knew that we where in for some frustration when we kept hooking the bait, mostly silversides and bunker. We will try Charlestown tonight.
